How to free up iPhone storage

Photos and videos can occupy a large part of iPhone storage. You can make progress by identifying the biggest opportunities first.

Measure before deleting

Open Settings → General → iPhone Storage. Check how much space Photos uses and whether other categories, such as apps and downloads, are the real problem.

Find large videos and screenshots

Old screen recordings and long videos can take significant space. Start with items you recognize as disposable instead of guessing based on a thumbnail.

Review before you remove

Use LumoKeep to inspect large files, screenshots, and similar photos. Its review-oriented workflow keeps the final deletion choice with you.

Consider compression carefully

Compression can reduce file size but may affect quality or metadata, depending on the format and workflow. Verify the compressed result before discarding an original. Not every iPhone photo format is supported by every app.

Understand iCloud Photos

With Optimize iPhone Storage, your device may already keep smaller local versions of some files. Do not assume the visible library's full size is reclaimable local storage. Delete only after confirming what is backed up and synced.

Recheck available space

After cleanup, revisit iPhone Storage. Some space changes take time to appear, and items in Recently Deleted may still count until they are removed.

Note: iOS menus and behavior may change across versions. Confirm the options shown on your device.
