Privacy Policy

Your vault is not our data.

PrivateMoment is designed to keep private content on your device and outside developer-operated servers.

Effective date: October 5, 2026. This policy applies to the PrivateMoment iOS app and this product website.

1. Information we collect

PrivateMoment does not require an account and does not include advertising. We use Firebase Analytics to understand product quality and feature usage. We do not send the photos, videos, Moment text, PINs, encryption keys, or the contents of your vault as analytics events.

Analytics is configured without IDFA, without AdSupport, with IDFV collection disabled, without Google Signals, and without advertising-related features.

2. Your private content

Private content is stored inside the app's private container on your iPhone and is protected locally. PrivateMoment does not operate a server that stores your vault content.

3. Photos and camera access

If you choose to import from Apple Photos, PrivateMoment uses the permissions you grant through iOS to access the selected content. If you use the private camera, camera and microphone access may be requested for photo or video capture. Media captured with the private camera is designed to go directly into the PrivateMoment vault rather than being automatically added to Apple Photos.

4. Encrypted backups

Backups are created at your request and remain under your control. You choose where to save them, such as Files, iCloud Drive, external storage, or another file provider available through iOS. PrivateMoment does not upload a copy to a developer-operated backup service.

Storage providers you choose may process the backup according to their own privacy policies. The backup itself is encrypted by PrivateMoment before export.

5. Sharing and exporting

When you explicitly export or share content, iOS may hand that content to the destination you select. That action is initiated by you, and the selected app or service may process the content under its own privacy policy.

6. Analytics and advertising

Firebase Analytics is used only for app-quality and product-usage measurement. PrivateMoment does not serve ads and does not use analytics for advertising personalization. Technical data processed by Firebase is handled according to Google's Firebase privacy and data-processing documentation.

7. Website data

This website is hosted as a static site. PrivateMoment does not intentionally add advertising trackers or behavioral analytics to these pages. Your network provider, browser, DNS provider, hosting platform, or other infrastructure providers may still process technical connection data as part of delivering the site.

8. Data retention

Because PrivateMoment does not collect your vault content on developer-operated servers, we do not maintain a server-side copy to retain or delete. Content remains on your device until you remove it, uninstall the app, or otherwise manage it through iOS and your own backups.

9. Children

PrivateMoment is a general-purpose privacy utility and is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children. The app does not require account registration.

10. Security

PrivateMoment uses local encryption and iOS platform protections to reduce exposure of private data. No software can truthfully guarantee absolute security. You can read the current technical overview on the Security page.

11. Changes to this policy

If PrivateMoment's data practices materially change, this policy will be updated to reflect those changes. The effective date at the top of this page will also be updated.
